Shaikh Hamza is a very dynamic and engaging speaker. He has spent the over 15 years in Howza Ilmiyah in Qum. His specialty is Islamic Law and Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence.

Biography:
Shaikh Hamza Sodagar is an American scholar raised in Washington, DC. He currently resides in Qum, Iran and has been studying for over 15 years, specializing in Islamic Law and Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence as well as Islamic Philosophy. Currently, he is attending the dars-e-kharij of the renowned scholar, Grand Ayatullah Shubairi Zanjani. Over the years, Shaikh Sodagar has traveled to many places around the globe to speak on matters concerning the Muslim community.

The first day of Shahr ul Ramadhan is Sunday June 29. The program at Shah-E-Najaf Center will begin at 7:30 pm with Qur'an and Du'a Iftitah recitation followed by the English lecture by Maulana Sayyid Ali Zaydi.

 

Topic: Redefining Success


Hujjatul Islam Sayyid Ali Zaydi is currently in his 7th year of studies in the Islamic Seminary of Qom. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan. After working in the industry for several years, he decided to pursue Islamic Studies and is currently specializing in Principles of Islamic Law and Islamic Law as well as Islamic Theology (ilm al-Kalam).

Sheikh Usama Abdul Ghani was born and raised in San Diego California. His father, a former Sunni, took part in the struggles of the African American civil rights movement and converted to Shia Islam when Sh Usama was still young. After high school, Sh Usama moved to NY and studied in the Islamic Seminary in Upstate, NY for 4 years. Upon completing his studies in NY he moved to Qom, Iran to continue his studies in the Islamic Seminary. He has been studying in Qom for the past 20 years specializing in Islamic ethics and family morals.
